SJPA is a voluntary, non-profit organization composed of paralegals, students, vendors, and sponsors who study and/or work in a variety of areas in the legal field. SJPA members are dedicated to promoting the paralegal profession by networking, offering continuing legal education (CLE) classes, mentoring students, and educating the public.
A brief history:
• In June 1985, SJPA became the 33rd association member of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations which represents paralegal associations throughout the world.
• In 2010, we began offering our members the opportunity to be credentialed through the New Jersey Certified Paralegal (NJCP) Program.
• In May 2018, SJPA celebrated its 35-year anniversary of incorporation and continues to grow and support the paralegal community.
On March 08, 2021 SJPA held its 10th Annual PES (Paralegal Educational Symposium). This event, PES2021@Home, was held virtually due to the COVID pandemic. Despite being a virtual event, it was a great day, full of informative seminars and terrific speakers. Our attendees got to network and obtain CLEs credits (if needed). We look forward to the 2022 PES!
Please get involved - SJPA welcomes all who would like to share their time and talent! There are plenty of committees to join such as PES, CLE planning, obtaining speakers, visiting colleges to speak with paralegal students, or working with our Scholarship Committee. We know your time is precious, but even an hour or two a month or a helping hand at one of our dinner meeting would be greatly appreciated.
